Your Questions, Answered

  • All of our expeditions require moderate level of physical ability. All guests must be able to walk at least three miles per day unassisted over variable and uneven terrain. All walks are at a slow but intentional pace. Slow to avoid interfering with wildlife, but intentional to insure we are not stopping abruptly before being in position. Some trips require climbing into boats, bush planes, or rapidly loading and unloading from lifted vehicles.

  • How close we get to wildlife depends on the animal’s comfort level around us and the guidelines set by local law enforcement. In some ecosystems, there are no legal distance requirements and we are able to allow wildlife to approach within close quarters. In other cases, wildlife can only be viewed from a distance so as not to disturb their behavior. Keeping humans and wildlife safe is our top priority in the field, while also having close and intimate encounters whenever possible. It is critical that guests listen to the instruction of their guides. Failure to do so can result in removal from the Expedition.

  • No way! Our Expeditions are for all, whether you’re a seasoned professional, an absolute amateur, an iPhone photographer, or someone who just wants to sit back and enjoy the wild world unfolding around them. If you do have a camera we are happy to provide occasional photography tips and tricks, but keep in mind these trips are not photography workshops and there will be no classroom or camera instructional sessions. Our Expeditions are wildlife and adventure focused.

  • No, we can not guarantee wildlife. If we could, it wouldn’t be wild anyway. An important part of our Expeditions is experiencing the wilderness at its rawest. This means there may be times when we must wait patiently, or pivot a plan entirely to increase our odds of encounters. No one wants to see wildlife more than your own Guide Team, so we do everything in our power to find what we can.

  • A detailed packing list will be sent to you a few days prior to your departure date, enabling your Guide Team to tailor the list according to real-time weather forecast and conditions. If you have gear questions beforehand, feel free to reach out to our Expedition Planners who will do their best to provide insight.
